Hyperglycemia or high blood sugar is dangerous to your body. Thicker blood (high blood sugar/hyperglycemia) harms your vessels. If you find your blood sugar is high, you may be eating too many carbohydrates, taking inadequate medication or have increased stress or illness. Be sure to drink water to help dilute the excess glucose and rehydrate yourself. Contact your doctor if glucose levels are consistently high.
